Getting Serious about a Series

The latest Netflix Series, MAID, is on everyone’s lips at the moment, and for very good reason. If you have not yet watched it, I highly recommend that you do.

I am going to openly admit that I am a Big Bang Theory nerd. I have watched the series from beginning to end about 50 times, no exaggeration, and I probably know all of the words for each and every episode. Deciding to break out of my comfort zone and watch a new series was a big step for me, but let me tell you, I am so happy that I did.

MAID resonated with me on so many levels. Having been in both a Mentally and Emotionally Abusive relationship for many years of my life, I was always made to believe that it was not actually abusive, it was just a bad relationship. This series made me “see the light”, so to say, and come to realise that I was very much in an abusive relationship, and it brought up many feelings that I am currently trying to make sense of.

This series could not have come out at a better time. I am launching my company, and everything that MAID incorporates, is everything that I have incorporated into my company. The aspects of abuse, the aspects of mental health, the aspects of reaching out and realizing that we are not alone, and the aspect of another person making us feel less than our worth, be it in a relationship or a working environment.

I don’t want to give away too much of the storyline in case you have not yet watched it, but I can assure you, that in some way, it is going to resonate with each and every person that watches it, either in a good way or a bad way, that is for you to decide.
