Twenty Twenty Two …..NO…….Twenty Twenty YOU!!!

I specifically chose today to be the day I write my first blog for the year.  Why?  Well, with the beginning of a new year, we are filled with optimism, we are all filled with dreams and goals for the year ahead, and we are all filled with possibilities.  And that’s great.  Come the second month of the year, February, we sit and think hmmm, ok, we are already in the second month of the year, and what have I achieved thus far.  A certain kind of reality sets in, sometimes it is a great reality, and sometimes it is not.  However, not all is lost, the first day of February gives us time to re-evaluate where we are going, what we want to achieve, and if the path we are currently on for the year is the path we want to be on.

I am incredibly proud of myself so far this year, I have completed my first 28 day eating challenge and I have lost just over 5kg and quite a lot in cm, my mental health seems to be in a stable state, and I had the most incredible blessing of having my son and I Baptized together.  I am happy with the path that I am on.

For those of you that are reading this right now, and you are not sure where you are in life, you may feel a bit stuck, you may feel depressed, you may feel like life is spiraling out of control, or you may just feel like you have no direction at the moment…..What if I told you that I could introduce you to a person that has the answer to all of those questions and feelings that you may have now.  What if I told you that I could introduce you to a person that would totally change your life, a person who would put you on the right path, help you overcome every speed bump that you might be encountering.  A person who has so much inner strength, so much determination, so much inner happiness, and they will be your biggest cheerleader.  Would you want to meet them?

What if I told you I could also introduce you to a person who is your worst enemy, the person who is holding you back in your life, the person who places all those limits on your life, and places untrue thoughts in your head?  Would you want to meet them?

Well, I am going to introduce you to both of them anyway. 

Get up, walk over to the mirror, and look at who is looking back at you.  That is the person that I want to introduce you to.  Now go back and re-read what I wrote before about these two different people.  Frightening how true it is right!!

When I had this realization at the very beginning of the year, the words Twenty Twenty You came into my head, and they have not left.  This year is about YOU.  Discovering who YOU are, conquering the dreams and possibilities that YOU want, learning to love, accept, be gentle and realise that YOU are enough.  This year is about YOUR growth, this year is about loving the amazing person that YOU are.  If you are sitting there thinking, “But so and so is prettier, taller, more talented than me”, be thankful for that, imagine what a boring world this would be if we all looked the same, all had the same outlook on life, all walked on the same path and there was absolutely no diversity.  Celebrate YOU.

I would like to encourage you to join my Twenty Twenty You movement.  I would like to encourage you to go and look in the mirror and ask yourself if you want to be your own biggest enemy or your own biggest cheerleader.  I want to encourage you this year,  to walk this path with me, in being the best that YOU can be.  Work on the person that YOU want to become, work on the goals that YOU want to achieve, and learn to accept and love YOU for YOU.   This year do what makes YOU happy, do what is best for YOU. If you are having mental health issues, if you are struggling to stay on the path, if you feel like you are falling behind, I am encouraging YOU to take my hand, and I will walk beside YOU and guide YOU through this year.  Why?  Because, even if I don’t know you, I believe in YOU, and I know that everything is possible with God and everything is possible when we do it together.

Now, Get up, put on some music, and celebrate YOU, Celebrate Twenty Twenty YOU!!!
